Celebrities Urge Georgia to Veto Anti-Gay Discrimination Bill, Reveal Plan to Boycott

A group of actors, directors, filmmakers, and more have gotten together to write a letter to Governor Deal of Georgia to say they will protest working in the state if H.B. 757 passes.

The bill is an anti-gay discrimination bill which will allow religious leaders to deny performing same-sex marriages.

“As leaders in the entertainment industry, we have deep concerns about [the bill] which would sanction discrimination against LGBT people and others in Georgia,” the letter reads. “We pride ourselves on running inclusive companies, and while we have enjoyed a positive partnership on productions in Georgia, we will plan to take our business elsewhere if any legislation sanctioning discrimination is signed into state law.”

Celebrities who have attached their name to the letter include Matt Bomer, Anne Hathaway, Julianne Moore, Kristin Chenoweth, Zoe Kravitz, Dustin Lance Black, Seth MacFarlane, Aaron Sorkin, and more. Read the entire letter here.

Complete Bull..I am sorry but Religious PEOPLE have EVERY RIGHT to not perform GAY MARRIAGE.
That’s like Forcing Boy Scouts to allow Girls to join…IT’S CALLED BOY for a reason…..Religion especially christianity has been against this thing for How many YEARS? Now all Sudden it’s discrimination and THERE HAVE TO BE LAWS?? why can’t the Gays get there own churches where you have to go to them certain ones to get married at instead of FORCING your beliefs and VIEWS onto others..THIS IS SOOO SICKENING and it pisses me off frankly

These celebrities are all fraud and hypocrites. So they want to boycott the state of Georgia for their Freedom of Speech but then these Hollywood frauds go and work for rapists and child molesters like Woody Allen, Roman Polanksi, Lena Dunham, etc?
No thanks, I would boycott these Hollywood stars instead.

What I do not get is Georgia did not outlaw gay marriage they just said religous places do not have to perform the ceremony. Why would you want to go to a churh that speaks out against you and get married by them. You go to a court, or a religious group that accepts it.

I agree very much. Those church are not obligated to perform marriages for gays if they don’t want to. Its still their choice too.
I am really sick of all this PC bullcrap that has been going on a few years. Many years ago, America was very much opposed to gays but all of a sudden if you don’t support it, you get bashed?
There is no such thing as freedom of speech anymore.

Discrimination shouldn’t be tolerated! Good for them!

I’m against all sorts of discrimination but I wouldn’t want to get married in a church where they DON’T WANT me there anyway. I’d go elsewhere to feel welcomed and wanted.
