Adele Slams People Who Pressure Women Into Breastfeeding

Adele opened up to the audience at a recent concert about breastfeeding.

The 27-year-old singer slammed people who pressure women to breastfeed after the topic was in the news following chef Jamie Oliver saying that England had a “problem” with women not breastfeeding.

“It’s f–king ridiculous, and all those people who put pressure on us, you can go f–k yourselves, all right?” Adele told the crowd at London’s O2 Arena. “Because it’s hard. Some of us can’t do it. I managed about nine weeks with my boobs.”

“I mean, I loved [using formula]. All I wanted to do was breastfeed and then I couldn’t and then I felt like, ‘If I was in the jungle now back in the day, my kid would be dead because my milk’s gone,’” Adele continued.

Women should be pressured into breastfeeding in public so that we can see their breasts.

I had intended to breast feed but my milk did not come in right away. The head of my pediatrics office said to use formula – that we are in R.I. not a 3rd world nation and formula was just as healthy as breast milk. Friends said he was wrong – because obviously they know more than one of the top rated pediatricians in R.I. Well 16 years later – knock on wood – my daughter is healthy and beautiful. Had a cold about 6 times in her entire life, no allergies of any kind, no asthma, no heath issues. Not the case of many I know who insisted breast feeding was healthier. So it is a personal choice and no one has a right to decide what is best for another.

The doctors favorite the breastfeed in the 3 first months of the baby because the baby has no immunity. If you can’t for some reasons( meds,”bad milk”,….) ,okay

  • Ladyd712

Not all doctors. As far as the immunity goes that was the point I was making. My friends who breastfed – their children have all health issues that breast feeding was supposed to help prevent and mine had none. So I believe it is a personal choice.

Formula NOT AND CAN’T BE just as breast milk. It’s impossible.

But if there is no breast milk pediatricians suggest formula, what a big secret.

Your daughter is one lucky chance. Don’t make huge generalization from one yours experience.

Jamie Oliver said about women who believe that “formula exactly just as breast milk” and Adele said about women who lost milk.

    Logic.

Yes I have 1 daughter and 19 nieces and nephews – over half of them breast fed – and I am telling you that all most all of those breast fed have issues. Where of those not breast fed, only 2 have issues. Also as I said Dr. Utter was the number 1 pediatrician in R.I. for may years- until he retired and he said Infant formula in the U.S. is healthy for babies and breast feeding is not the only choice or always the best choice.

  • Ladyd712

Since you are from Russia you do not know anything about U.S. our formula’s and what are doctors say.

It seems like you feel the need to justify why you used formula. If it worked for you in your situation than that is fine. Formula is a great invention that has helped many families when breastfeeding did not work for them. But please do not downplay the benefits of breastfeeding. It is a lot more than just the (possible) prevention of allergies etc. It is a very personal issue but I think that society plays an important rule as well. Pressure certainly does not help but a support system would be much more helpful (Brazil is a good example for this)

“only 2 have issues” But they have. You are doing generalization based on your life experience.

  • http://notly.ru/ Mapгapитa Бaбoвниковa

you are simply stupid, get off.

  • Ladyd712

yes and 7 of the n 9 that were breast fed have issues – so yes I choose to believe what I have seen around me and my pediatrician,as opposed to what someone else has written about. By the way, how many children do you have and how is their heath?

  • Ladyd712

You miss my point totally. No one needs to justify the decision they make on how to feed their baby. A lot of women who support breast feeding try to force their opinions on everyone. My point is their is no guarantee that because you breast feed your child that baby will be healthier than a formula fed baby. The opposite is true in my personal experiences. As far as Brazil goes I am not sure what your point is. They don’t have the formula’s available to them that we . Whether you breast feed your child or bottle feed your child -is just that – your choice. No one has a right to tell someone else what to do.

No – you see here in America we get to speak our minds. You don’t have to read my comments or reply.
