Charlize Theron Covers 'British GQ' May 2016

Charlize Theron looks stunningly gorgeous on the cover of British GQ magazine’s May 2016 issue, photographed by Alexi Lubomirski.

Here’s what the 40-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On being typecast because she’s beautiful: “Jobs with real gravitas go to people that are physically right for them and that’s the end of the story. How many roles are out there for the gorgeous, f***ing, gown-wearing eight-foot model? When meaty roles come through, I’ve been in the room and pretty people get turned away first.”

On ageing: “We live in a society where women wilt and men age like fine wine. And, for a long time, women accepted it. We were waiting for society to change, but now we’re taking leadership. It would be a lie to say there is less worry for women as they get older than there is for men… It feels there’s this unrealistic standard of what a woman is supposed to look like when she’s over 40.”

I’ve never hated her more… Does she not know how many women would KILL for her looks?

And on top of that who are these ugly women that get “her” roles? They may not be 6ft tall and blonde but ugly women rarely get cast in meaty roles. That honor goes to ugly men who always get cast

A cold and arrogant bitch if there ever was one.

Mind you people, she did not say ‘ugly’.
Films looking for strong gritty female characters would normally look for an actress with more down to earth features. Pretty but not overtly so and definitely not close to 6ft tall. Typical example would be Jessica Chastain, Jodie Foster and Julianne Moore.

Not too many tall actresses get meaty roles. One reason is that many male leads are not that tall either.
