Broad City's Abbi Jacobson & Ilana Glazer Talk Life Before the Show, Feminism & More
Here’s what the comedians had to share with the mag:
Abbi, on life before Broad City was picked up: “Before the show was picked up, we were living off, like, 20 grand a year. But we thought, We’re doing it; we’ve got to make it work.”
Abbi, on Hillary Clinton guest starring: “We were like, ‘You know, we’ll just write this. Hillary doesn’t need to be involved.’ And then we were like, ‘Maybe we should just see if she would do it.’ When she said yes, we were like, ‘Holy sh-t!’”
Ilana, on the importance of women speaking up: “Sometimes as women I feel we need to repeat ourselves to be heard. And it’s like, ‘OK, so I’ll repeat myself. And I’m going to say it f—king louder.’ It’s important that women create really funny content, from a feminist perspective but also just for the world.”
