Anderson Cooper Doesn't Think Reporters Should Vote

Anderson Cooper says he does not plan on voting in the upcoming presidential election and doesn’t think other reporters should either.

“I don’t think reporters should vote,” the 48-year-old CNN anchor said on The Howard Stern Show. “A lot of reporters don’t vote. It’s a thing.”

“I’ve had the debate. There have been years where I have voted because sometimes I thought maybe I should. I’ve gone back and forth on it,” Anderson continued. “I don’t want to be influenced one way or the other. My role is to ask questions.”

“I honestly can’t remember,” Anderson said about his last time voting. “I don’t like feeling that I’ve taken a stand. I think [voting] is something [reporters] actively need to fight against and push against. It’s not my role.”
