the black self loathing is real.

Rachel Dolzeal (white woman turns black) – Who cares???? Let her do her!

Lil Kim (black woman turns white) – The black self loathing is real.

So turning black is a good thing but turning white is a bad thing. Got it. Maybe let Lil Kim live her life the way she wants without being shamed by other blacks.

  • b324

I’m pretty sure Rachel got a LOT of bad press and questions about what she did. The same that Lil’ Kim would get, if anyone cared.

  • Marie Bunny Shepard

    She had some backlash yes.

  • Marie Bunny Shepard

The fact is she looks as white as Beyoncé on many photoshoots (photoshopped) she usually does. And also, before that, she got surgery and looked like an asian woman on some red carpets… Maybe she’s trying to do a Benetton challenge.

  • Marie Bunny Shepard

The sad part is that she was really good looking when younger (i.e. with no surgery)…

  • millers3888

Dolezal got SOME bad press, until the black community rallied behind her. “Hey, what’s wrong with wanting to be black? You racist???” She invented this idea of being “transracial”. But someone like Lil Kim starts looking a little white “SELF HATER!!!”

  • Gina

Well, that was my first reaction but then I realized that it was a cop out because society clearly makes black women feel like they are undesirable and that having white features equates to being beautiful. Some black women are strong enough to be themselves, but others aren’t.

  • Anna

At first glance of the topic picture, I thought it was a picture of some Korean celebrity. My god, forget white, she looks Asian.

  • VanityInsecurity

stop with that BS already.. blaming how you feel on society or what society deems beautiful.. my parents raised me to be strong .. hers didn’t. thats it.

  • AeeJay

whats really sad, is that most black girls want to do this. bleach their skin cus hey Beyonce , Rihanna, they all do it.. really just gross.

  • Joe Torres

Plain nasty. She’s a plastic monster at this point. She was naturally pretty, wtf is she thinking?

  • Marie Bunny Shepard

Yes, true. We also can assume that she’s addicted to surgery. It’s a thing.

  • VanityInsecurity

wtf are you talking about? when the hell did I ever say what Dolzeal did was OK? um never. Lil Kim can do whatever the hell she wants ..she still hates how she was born ..a black woman, just like the other loon and anyone else trying to fit into a mold because inside they are weak.

  • Gina

Hey Einstein, did you not read my last sentence? I clearly stated that some women are strong enough to be themselves and some aren’t; so don’t regurgitate what I said back to me, honey. But you must be a fool to not also recognize the impact that society’s beauty standards clearly had on her.

  • millers3888

The point is that you immediately jump to race “she’s a self hater!!” – what, because her pigment is lighter? Who gives a f***? Only blacks and liberals who will shame her, unless you turn black of course (my other point) in which case it’s celebrated.

  • VanityInsecurity

when one bleaches their skin cus they think its too dark its about their race, dont be delusional. its not like white ppl tanning cus thats not permanent.

  • Rose

Lmao there are actual articles and scholarly journals on this topic that say otherwise from *professionals* who do studies on this topic (societies beauty standards and how they effect women) along with other factors. But I mean…. that’s BS lol.

  • VanityInsecurity

and that makes it fact… well if scholars say so..it must be so.. No one puts standards on anyone but ourselves, you just bought into that crap & most people make a living on convincing people like yourself how you should feel & look about yourself.

2 kinds of ppl in life followers & leaders.. I know where I stand.

  • VanityInsecurity

really? I need you to tell me anything..yes Gina thank you for enlightening me..you are so intelligent with your infinite wisdom, on black women.. said no one.

  • LaCroix

typical comment… black girls always need to shift blame white society & to feel better about themselves, you really are a complicated people. always pointing fingers always blaming others for everything. how about this try looking in that mirror & stop trying to be white or caring about what white society thinks. Lil Kim, Beyonce, Rihanna, so many others all of them started black as f*ck and now they can pass for a European. Take some responsibility for once.

  • AeeJay

those are called theories, theories aren’t facts moron. they aren’t proven, and when it comes to issues as complicated as that, they really can’t ever be proven.

  • Rose

Did i not say it was a study??? as in they’re studying it? as in “in process” and obviously isn’t proven because again “innnnn proooocess”?. All VanityInsecurity has is hypothesis as well. Whats the difference?

  • Rose

No one has convinced me of anything. And no where did i say that it was fact but it is something to take into consideration. But if you say so it must be true? Am i supposed to agree with your opinion because you think its true? These theories have studies/experiments trying to back them. What have you conducted that should make me believe in what you’ve said?

  • Queen Mennon

this is sick. these Black men taking up with these women of other races in direct opposition to the laws of our God. this is why Black people continue to be oppressed, hated and scorned. our women, wanting to look like the heathen gentile. when are we going to learn how to behave and follow the laws put forth by our God? don;t these Black men understand that the identity of the race come thru the male?

  • Gina

Typical comment displaying lack of reading comprehension skills. You’re another one who must be deaf, dumb, and blind. I already stated that one has to be strong enough to not be influenced by a racist society. Is that not taking responsibility? Stop using this opportunity to unleash your misguided opinion on a struggle you know nothing about.

  • Gina

Honey, someone needs to lay some knowledge on your holier than thou ass. We are both appalled by Lil Kim’s transformation, but you seem to like sitting on your high horse and telling the black community what they need to do while coming from a place of ignorance and malice instead of trying to understand the root of the problem. Get it together, ya ignoramus.

  • AeeJay

difference is Vanity is coming across as if its her own opinion meanwhile you are relying your opinion on a study that isn’t even your own, stating it as a statement as if it was factual. that is the difference. get it now? or are you still lost?

  • Leelee

What black community “rallied behind her”? She lied about her family heritage, about who she really was, lost her job and credibility trying to be someone she wasn’t. And where is she now? Exactly! Lil Kim apparently has some issues with the way she looks. Flashback to her debut album Hardcore in 96, that’s the Lil Kim I want to remember before somebody told her (record label possibly) or she decided afgter she got some money that she needed to fix this and do that, just a little lightening of your skin won’t hurt. Now look at what we’re left with. It’s up to us as women not to buy into what someone else tells us beauty is, especially in the physical sense. We all have different standards.

  • Leelee

I don’t think Lil Kim is being shamed. I don’t understand how you can get so lost in the game/business that you can’t see what’s right for you and what isn’t. You need to have good people around you with your best interest at heart and not their own, people who’ll tell you when you look ridiculous and not to have another surgery because you’ve already gone too far. Maybe she doesn’t have that kind of support.

  • Leelee

Beyonce & Rihanna started out “black as f&*%”? What does that mean, in color or in culture? And they aren’t now? Really? Beyonce having Creole blood in her makes her part European but blonde hair and highlights, weaves, etc. are accessories these days so not everybody is trying to pass for European. Some women just want to step up their game by trying something new. Be careful using always because that means every time. I don’t hear Patti LaBelle, Angela Bassett, Halle Berry, Whoopi, Oprah or Michelle Obama blaming white society about anything to feel better about themselves or changing their looks so who exactly are you referring to as the “complicated people always pointing fingers blaming others for everything” ? The people who live in impoverished areas who are actually being oppressed or some other complicated people?

  • disqus_81gZLS7dKd

are u mental ? beyonce and rihanna have a lil mix in them.. solange is same skin tone as beyonce did she bleach her skin also? kelly rowland, michelle obama, liputa nyongo, naomie campbell, oprah winfrey etc..are all influential black women that have never put jack shit to alter their skin or to kill off their beautiful melanin..those who bleach are weak minded n the rest of black women dont wanna look albino n kill off their melanin to look like some basic becky. black women who bleach probably accounts to 2% as compared to tanning which is a million dollar industry.. dont point fingers, make sure ur fingers are clean first

  • disqus_81gZLS7dKd

ikr? our black women have lost their ways.. wanna kill off their melanin to look like some basic becky

  • disqus_81gZLS7dKd

u worry about tanning ur skin n leave kim alone.. if u dont ever alter ur outer appearance then please refrain from pointing fingers

  • Marie Bunny Shepard

I’m never tanning my skin because of cancer in my family. And I’m not pointing finger. I’m talking about double standard. I don’t think she’s doing that to look less black, but because she probably love surgery…

  • bay1

I thought this was about Lil Kim not a Joan Rivers Look a like. Wasn’t Lil Kim Black?
So sad what she has done to herself with the too pale face make up and the distinct line of it on her Jaw she needs to fire whomever does her make up cause it is horrible Then sue that plastic surgeon for turning her into a Joan Rivers look a like.

She used to be so pretty not sure what she sees in the mirror but it obviously was not what we all saw when we looked at her. So many with body image issues in the music and movie /TV business.

  • V-Aileen

I just wonder how she feels mentally, emotionally. I just wonder if she still feels like a black woman. It’s like someone who has always been overweight finally looses the weight, but still feels like there is a fat person inside them.

  • LosersLiveOnForums

All you lonely bitches need to stop posting on forums trying to prove yourself smarter than the idiot you’re responding to. Half you simpletons obviously didn’t even read the full post you’re bitching about, either that or your reading comprehension is shit. Just looking for an online fight with somebody that dares have a different opinion. How ’bout that??? And you can save your replies, I joined just to say this, and won’t be back, unlike you simple asses…

  • Flowergrrl

If you hadn’t said that was her, honestly, I never would have guessed. Oddly though, she reminds me of Nicki Minaj. And she kinda has that Catwoman (sorry, I don’t know how to spell her name) socialite look going on. She is way too young, she needs to relax on surgeries for awhile.

To each their own. I love her music.

  • Flowergrrl

Nice to know you and your God are so racist.

  • Queen Mennon

my position is not racist. why R U so quick to call it racism? has the Black race treated you like you have us? on what basis do you call this racism? what evidence do you have that this is racism? Check out A Racial Program for the 20th Century if you want to understand what is happening.

  • FÜÇKTHESYSTEM66

Skin bleach isn’t permanent either. You have to keep it up the same as a person who tans would. It’s her skin and she can do what she wants with it if it makes her feel better about herself.

  • FÜÇKTHESYSTEM66

That’s a dam lie! I don’t know nobody who bleaches their skin! You need to check you facts on that. Beyonce and Rihanna is light skinned! They tan easily and appear darker at times. What if it was said that people who tan are gross?

  • FÜÇKTHESYSTEM66

No, that is not true what AeeJay said! I don’t know anyone who bleaches their skin. I do know people who use creams to even skin tone (dark spots) due to acne. All black girls don’t bleach just like all whites don’t tan. I do agree that she is addicted to plastic surgery tho.

  • FÜÇKTHESYSTEM66

Nicki Manaj copied her. She basically stole the woman’s whole stage persona.
