Beyonce Addresses Anti-LGBT Law After North Carolina Concert

Beyonce is speaking out against the legislation in North Carolina that prohibits members of the LGBT community from using bathrooms of their choice.

The 34-year-old entertainer took to her website after her Formation World Tour stop on Tuesday (May 3) in Raleigh, N.C.

“North Carolina has been drawing the attention of the masses for new legislation that blocks cities and local governments from passing anti-discrimination measures that could protect gay and transgender people,” Bey wrote.

The note continues, “As The Formation World Tour makes its stop in the Tar Heel state in the midst of such a controversial time, we think it is important for us to bring attention to those who are committed to being good and carrying on the message of equality in this core of controversy.”

I guess if I had private bodyguards that cleared out anyone in restrooms before my kids go in then I’d be all good with it too.

  • Lenny

‘It would one thing if it was just restrooms, but the extension of this is it leads to lock rooms, shower rooms in rec centres, pools, gyms etc.
Any man with a wig can say they identify a women and have access to the same facilities exclusively for girls and no law will protect children or women if they object to the “man’s” presence.

Just like they have “family” restrooms in public places maybe they need to make a unisex restroom. I for one do not want to enter in what’s suppose to be a restroom for women and be in the stall next to a man wearing a skirt. He may claim to be a women but his physical strength is still what his DNA says he is “a man”.

Jesus christ, what a bunch of bigots here. You all sound like morons, do you really think a rapist is gonna go to a public restroom, put on a wig and attack you or your children? REALLLY? Because of that fear and narrowmindedness women (I mean males who identify as females and are in transition) will not be safe in a male restroom. Do you have any idea how many (%) transpeople get attacked on a yearly basis compared to the % cis-women? Of course not, because you only think of yourself.
Imagine having to walk into a restroom, in the middle of transitioning, as a man in a skirt/wig as you guys describe it. Most likely you will be attacked/threatened/made fun of/stared at. Believe me, us cis-females have it easy compared to transpeople.

Please educate yourself before you speak.

  • Isa

And any woman can cut of her hair and go into a man locker room and grab ass. Your point is?
Stop seeing girls as the weaker sex. You sound like a bigot and obviously know nothing about trans people.

  • Isa

Like all men are rapists. I don’t know what’s going on JJ today, but what a bunch of bigots here today. You all are living in fear. You are aware you also walk among men at work, in the street etc? Are you also scared then? What difference does a bathroom stall make? For a trans person being able to go to the right restroom makes a lot of difference because trans people are much more likely attacked than cis-women (but they are rapists right? ) Unless they are in a bathroom with a bigot like you of course, then it’s probably better to pee outside in the bushes. Educate yourself before u speak.

No one said they were rapist. Its just innapropriate for a man to be in the ladies room! I would kick someone’s azz if my daughter came crying saying it was a man in their! Unisex restrooms is the only solution!
