Woody Allen Responds to Son Ronan Farrow's Sexual Allegations Essay

Woody Allen has responded to his son Ronan Farrow‘s essay about the sexual assault allegations against him, made by Dylan Farrow.

“I never read anything about me, these interviews I do, anything,” the 80-year-old director told Variety. “I said everything I had to say about that whole issue in The New York Times. I have moved so far past it. I never think about it. I work. I said I was never going to comment on it again. I said everything I have to say about it.”

When pressed further, Woody continued, “I never read anything. I never read what you say about me or the reviews of my film. I made the decision I think five years ago never to read a review of my movie. Never read an interview. Never read anything, because you can easily become obsessed with yourself. [It’s] a bad idea to consume yourself with this stuff. You should do your work, not call up and find out how the grosses are, how is the film doing, how are the reviews. Forget about all that. Just work. It’s worked for me. I’ve been very productive over the years by not thinking about myself. I don’t like to hear that a critic thinks my film is a masterpiece and I don’t like to hear that a critic thinks my film misses.”

Notice that the cast of Allen’s latest film — Stewart, Lively, and Eisenberg — are widely considered second-tier talent eager for a break in a so-called prestige product. I for one can’t bring myself to support an alleged pederast as well as a man who most would agree committed incest.

Amazing how he spends all that time talking about something he’s “not saying anything about” …and at the same time manages to deflect the criticism with references to his work. Genius, really. A master of manipulation. For anyone who thinks this is unintentional, here’s how you really don’t make a comment:
    “Next question”
    “—-”

I’m certain you have things in common with this pedophile.

He pretends someone is talking about his movies and deflects attention away from the actual problem; the abuse claims. It is indeed brilliant, which scares me, no wonder how he gets away with everything, this man can talk and talk and talk.

That’s a really nasty thing to say to someone you don’t know. What a tool you are !!!

Woody can barely get A listers to work with him these days. I know some A listers like Cate Blanchett, Scarlett Johansson still work with him but even they know it must hurt their rep as actors.
