Hamilton's Phillipa Soo Lands Voice Role in Disney's 'Moana'
Phillipa Soo, the female star of Broadway’s smash hit musical Hamilton, will voice a role in Disney’s upcoming animated film Moana.
The 26-year-old Tony-nominated actress plays the role of Eliza Schuyler, the wife of Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s title character.
Lin just so happens to be writing the music for Moana so they will be teaming up once again for the new project!
Moana is about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of newcomer Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. The movie will be released on November 23, 2016.
