Tony Awards 2016 - Complete Winners List

It was a great night of celebrating the best of Broadway at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The big winner of the night was unsurprisingly the smash hit musical Hamilton, which took home 11 awards including Best Musical.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and star of the musical, took home the awards for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score for writing the show’s script and music.

Other big winners included Hamilton‘s Leslie Odom Jr. and The Color Purple‘s Cynthia Erivo. It was a diverse night with all four musical acting winners being black actors.
