Christina Grimmie's Brother Speaks Out at Hometown Vigil
Family, friends and fans gathered to remember the life of the late Christina Grimmie during a vigil held in her hometown on Monday evening (June 13) in Evesham, New Jersey.
The 22-year-old singer’s brother Mark, as well as several close friends and Mayor Randy Brown spoke out about her life, which was tragically cut short.
“She loved this town, she loved this state, she loved singing, she loved the Lord and she loved me and she was my baby sister,” Mark said as he spoke to the crowd.
He also thanked everyone for their outpouring of support, saying, “Adam Levine paid for Christina’s funeral. Selena [Gomez] is singing a song and crying [during her concert]. These people didn’t have that and we are blessed to. She’s in a better place…Thank you to everyone once again. I wish I could elaborate more, you guys didn’t know her like I did, so thank you. This is awesome.”
Mark also took the opportunity to pay tribute to those lost during the shooting in Orlando, adding, “About four miles away from where we were staying, there was a huge tragedy to Orlando, to the LGBT community and to the whole world. I mean, 50 people dead, who knows who is injured. I have no words. All of those people that died and are suffering.”
Our thoughts continue to be with Christina‘s family and friends during this difficult time.
