Pharrell Williams listens intently as he hears Maggie Rogers’ song “Alaska” for the first time.

The 43-year-old The Voice host had a passionate reaction to the song when he came across it while teaching a master class at NYU.

Maggie told Pharrell about her rural upbringing and how her folk background had influenced her musical journey.

“I’ve never heard anyone like you before, and I’ve never heard anything that sounds like that,” Pharrell said, after stating that he had “absolutely no notes” for the piece. “That’s a drug for me.”
