Bringing my post over till Brad has a new thread.

France Bleu Mayenne Info: Brad Pitt spent two hours Montflours!
    =================================================
The famous American actor visited last Sunday, the private museum of Jean-Luc Gaignard to Montflours. Brad Pitt came by helicopter from the Sarthe where he was attending the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A visit discreet, the entourage of the player refused as photos to show.

Jean-Luc Gaignard still has eyes full of stars when he tells what happened to him. Last week, a friend asked him to welcome Brad Pitt. This inhabitant of Montflours been collecting for more than 40 years old motorcycles. It has one of the finest collections in the world. It has hundreds of motorcycles, the oldest dating from 1898, a De Dion Bouton. Initially, Jean-Luc Gaignard does not believe too. He said that with Stars all can change very quickly.

But last Sunday, at noon, he hears a helicopter pass over his head. He mounts his sidecar and share in the field where the helicopter landed. And then he sees off the device, an angel: Brad Pitt, dressed all in white, surrounded by his bodyguards, his assistant, his lawyer and an interpreter. The dream becomes reality.

Immediately, and despite the language barrier, current flows between the two men. Jean-Luc Gaignard lends a helmet and a leather jacket with Brad Pitt and go for 5 minute ride in the sidecar to the property of Mayenne. A property, well hidden.

The property Jean-Luc Gaignard, several garages are filled with hundreds of old motorcycles, old oil cans, old engines. A staging reminiscent of old movies, old garages of our grandparents. This is a dive in the last century.

Harley-Davidson of, the Indian, the Koehler Escoffier …. Brad Pitt looked at everything with childlike eyes. The star is a lover of old motorcycles. He listened for two hours the stories of these old bikes, and even took pictures. A quick visit, certainly, but Brad Pitt still took the time to drink a glass of Muscadet and eat a few slices of sausage before returning to Le Mans for the arrival of 24 hours. The star who promised to return to Jean-Luc Gaignard. The Mayennais is somehow fell in love with Brad Pitt, a simple man, human, very caring, passionate and above.

5 Lessons From Angelina Jolie on How to Make a Career Change
    =================================================
We can all learn a career lesson or two from Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie. She’s gone from Academy Award winner to activist to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees ambassador to director to producer to wife and mother of six – not necessarily in that order and often simultaneously. And now she’s an academic, too.

According to reports, Jolie has been appointed as a visiting professor at the London School of Economics – seriously. To you aspiring career-changers out there that aren’t following your dreams because you assume employers won’t take your new direction seriously, take note from Jolie! Follow her playbook and be confident in your potential to reinvent your career. Yes, it’s possible! Here’s how.

Don’t start from scratch. Instead, take the next appropriate step that bridges the gap between your current and future careers. Did Jolie become a producer and director overnight? Not exactly, but she did flex her acting chops for years. Figure out how your current role connects to your dream job, and then think bigger about how you can build on your foundation to bridge that gap. Reflect on what you’ve seen and experienced on the other side of the desk, so to speak. Pursuing an executive role? Great! Outline a list of skills you admired in former bosses and want to emulate, as well as traits you loathed, and avoid becoming that guy or gal. Start pursuing opportunities to develop the characteristics that go along with your dream job.

Volunteer. By giving back, you’ll likely get even more in return. Not only will you feel good, you’re also likely to develop a new set of problem solving and time management skills that go beyond the scope of your current job. Take Jolie, for instance – in addition to her many other volunteer, activism and fundraising endeavors, she co-chairs the Clinton Global Initiative’s Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. This has undoubtedly contributed to her knowledge and leadership skills in education that support her new academic role.

Think of it this way – there are only so many hours in the workday; it’s challenging to take on office side projects that will enable you to acquire new skills while delivering outstanding work in your current role. Volunteering is a way to explore other sides of your skillset (and not to mention, a great talking point for your next job interview).

Job candidates often try to convince hiring managers that they’re a fit for a new job when they don’t have any directly related experience. Some of the most successful ones point to their indirect experiences leading volunteer efforts and, more importantly, the specific skills that match the job they are pursuing.

Have an “anything is possible” mentality. Think big picture: It doesn’t seem at all out of the ordinary that Jolie is a professor after seeing her manage all of those projects and commitments. But does it surprise you when someone tells you how he or she completely changed paths from being a teacher to going to nursing school? Or a lawyer to an HR manager or a hairdresser to a publicist? It’s all totally possible – it starts with believing that you can do it. How will you be able to convince a prospective employer that you’re capable of a career change if you can’t even convince yourself? The beauty about career changers is that they really want it – you’re hungry, you’ve figured out your purpose and you’re pursuing it wholeheartedly. You need to have that “I’m unstoppable” belief! It’s just a matter of finding the right fit with that employer who is willing to give you a chance.

In addition to having the mentality, of course, you have to actually go for it! Believe from within and make things happen. For instance, if a mentor or friend offers you an opportunity you haven’t previously pursued, don’t get in your own way. Doubts are normal, but the more you practice your elevator pitch and explore options that come your way, the faster they’ll subside. After all, that’s how you grow.

Separate who you are from what you do. It’s not uncommon, as you’re probably aware, to define yourself by your job. At networking events, more often than not we ask someone what they do instead of who they are because we see those two things as intertwined.

Start separating the two ever so slightly – simply remind yourself that you’re more than what you do. When you remove your job from the equation and think bigger about your overall personal brand, anything is possible! And if you need a nudge, look at Jolie. Or mogul Richard Branson. Or homeless comedian to millionaire Steve Harvey. Inspiration is all around, you just need to realize that you can do it, too.

Focus on your personal life. Not only is it healthy to put down your work phone and really enjoy some downtime, it’s also good for your career – really.

Achieving genuine work-life balance includes more than just wellness and self-care – it also gives you time to focus on other activities. For instance, some stay-at-home moms leverage their work at their kids’ schools as valuable talking points during interviews. Don’t underestimate the power and relevance of traits like time management and people skills and experiences like running a book fair or organizing a fund drive. These experiences on your personal time will help prepare you to land that next job!

Press Releases: Remarks With Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Angelina Jolie Pitt
    =================================================
Treaty Room Washington, DC June 20, 2016

Remarks With Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Angelina Jolie Pitt

SECRETARY KERRY:Good afternoon, everybody. It’s my enormous pleasure to welcome UNHCR Special Envoy Angelina Jolie, and I am really pleased to be able to introduce her today on World Refugee Day.

Angelina has traveled countless miles throughout the world representing the United States, but more importantly, representing the cause of refugees on a global basis. And as she well knows and people who are involved with refugees know, we are facing a world with about 65 million refugees today.

That is more than at any time in our history. And with conflicts raging in places like Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya – countless conflicts and countless challenges of poverty – there are more people seeking refuge, seeking shelter, seeking a future. The United States is particularly proud that we have been deeply engaged for many, many years in providing that opportunity to people.

And we’re living in a contentious time when some try to make a negative out of being a refugee or somehow turn people who are refugees into threats.

But we have just met together with a group of people who are working at the United States State Department, each of them contributing enormously to the work of this department, to the fiber of our country, and most importantly, all of them working with refugees themselves. They are American; they’re as American as anybody; and they have a story to tell about how America keeps faith with people’s dreams and hopes and aspirations.

So I’m very, very grateful to Angelina for her personal leadership, for her commitment to this issue. She’s been working at this for years. This is not a passing fancy for her at all; it is a lifetime commitment. And it’s my pleasure to introduce her as well as to thank her for all that she is doing to help us with this extraordinarily important cause.
    Angelina.

MS. JOLIE PITT: Thank you so much. Thank you, Secretary Kerry. As UNHCR special envoy and as an American citizen, I am very grateful for the opportunity to be here and to meet with you today.

As the Secretary said, today is World Refugee Day. If I ask people for anything on this day, it is to take a moment and to truly grasp what a refugee crisis of today’s magnitude means for peace and security of the world. I ask people to understand that with 65 million people displaced by conflict, we are facing a world of wars we cannot ignore or turn our backs on.

To do that would be naive, irresponsible, and dangerous.
We face a very clear choice: to continue as we are and see displacement and insecurity grow, or to come together with other nations and find a new approach, one that does not focus solely on aid and resettlement but on solution, stability, and returns.

Today, partly in response to this crisis, we are seeing rising intolerance and xenophobia. But strength lies in mastering and channeling our emotions so that we pursue policies that reduce – not inflame – threats to our security. We need leadership. We need solutions. So that is my ask and my focus today, and I look forward to speaking with you. My hope is that we can use the months before the very welcome summit on refugees hosted by President Obama in September to make progress and not to wait for that to act.

So I know Secretary Kerry is working tirelessly on these issues. I am very grateful for all that you do, all that you continue to do, all you’ve done, and I am very grateful that you would shine a light on this today and allow me to be here and speak. Thank you so much.

SECRETARY KERRY: Thank you. Thank you for being here. Thank you so much. And no questions? All right, thank you all very much. We appreciate it. Thanks.

I imagine she’s missing the rest of her family. Nice that she and Brad will arrive at the same time (more or less).

  • wika

Yeah is she heading to LA or out of the country???

  • Phool

The thing is that what you and Wika mentioned about the afternoon/evening meeting , seeing that there was no news and no online hints so I guessed as much she wasn’t attending but going back home.

  • Phool

You can imagine Vivian waiting there with her stopwatch to take her rightful place as mommy’s shadow as soon as she gets in.

  • wika

LOL! Just as I commented that we should take bets on who would arrive LAX first… wonder if she’s headed to LA. We all know Brad is otw for sure, since he’s already on a plane to LA now..

  • were the morons

    Uhmmmm…. Not so fast! LOL

  • ali7

Maybe they arrive at the same time

  • wika

Yeah well when the women commented that Brad was on the plane it was over 2-3h ago…. so yeah that could be a possibility too.

This was mentioned on the last thread. I can see Angie having a hand in this visit more than the invite to Le Mans.. Looks like Brad had a fabulous time..

Thank you Phool for the France Bleu Mayenne article.

Brad Pitt spent two hours in Montflours

The famous American actor visited Jean-Luc Gaignard’s private museum last Sunday. Brad Pitt arrived by helicopter from the Sarthe where he was taking part in the 24 Heures du Mans. A visit in all discretion, the actor’s entourage refused that pictures be shown.
Jean-Luc Gaignard still has star-filled eyes when he talks about what happened to him. Last week, a friend offered that he meet Brad Pitt. This Montflours resident has collected vintage motorcycles for 40 years. He has one of the best collections in the world. He has more than 100 motorcycles, the oldest from 1898, one De Dion Bouton. At first, Jean-Luc Gaignard doesn’t believe it. He tells himself that with stars, anything can change very quickly. But last Sunday, at noon, he hears a helicopter flying over his head. He gets on his bike and heads to the field where the helicopter landed. And there he sees stepping down from the aircraft, an angel: Brad Pitt, dressed all in white, surrounded by his bodyguards, his assistant, his attorney and an interpreter. The dream becomes reality.
Right away, and in spite of the language barrier, the two men hit it off. Jean-Luc Gaignard lends Brad Pitt a helmet and a leather jacket, and it’s off to a 5-minute ride in the sidecar, up to the Mayennais’s property.
Jean-Luc Gaignard’s property is several garages, filled with hundreds of old motorcycles, of old oil cans, of old motors. A scene straight out of old movies, our grandparents’ old garages. It’s a trip to the previous century.
Harley Davidsons, Indians, Koehler Escoffiers… Brad Pitt looked at everything with the eyes of a child. The star is a vintage motorcycle lover. He listened to the stories of these vintage bikes for two hours and even took pictures. A quick visit, certainly, but Brad Pitt took the time to drink a glass of Muscadet and to eat a few slices of andouille before flying back to Le Mans for the end of the 24 Heures. The star promised he’d come back to see Jean-Luc Gaignard. The Mayennais succombed to Brad Pitt’s charm, a simple man, human, very caring, and most of all passionate.

Looks like your buddy The Drumpf’s campaign is broke ass. FUll story at the link below –

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/06/21/trump-s-campaign-is-disastrously-short-on-cash.html

Trump’s Campaign Is So Broke It Couldn’t Afford a Condo in Trump Tower

In a month in which Clinton raked in $26.4 million, the presumptive GOP nominee raised $3.1 million—and spent a lot of the money at his own businesses.

Donald Trump loves to talk about how rich he is. But according to the latest campaign-finance report, his presidential bid is very, very poor.

In the month after clinching his party’s nomination, the billionaire businessman raised just $3.1 million and has loaned his campaign $2.2 million, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

The campaign has also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars at Trump’s own businesses, on products branded with his name and in direct payments to members of his family.

His cash on hand is a paltry $1.3 million. That stands in stark contrast to the Clinton campaign, which announced a haul of nearly $26.4 million. Her cash on hand rang in at $42 million.

She does such good work, she cares about the world. Good for her!

  • Passing Through

So Angie was leaving from JFK? She’s not doing the sexual violence program at the UN this afternoon? Brad’s probably already back in LA by now, too.

  • busted

I don’t know if he would have landed by this time. She had what a 4 or 5 hour flight.. I would love if they landed at the same time.. seriously would just squeeel

  • wika

Brad was on the flight to LA about 2-3h ago. He was on a flight to London with Piers Morgan from Nice earlier on – if you missed it – you need to read the tweet exchanges between him and the people on Internet about him and Brad being on the same flight LOL

  • gennline

Love her dress, elegant and comfortable.
I have liked everything she has worn on this trip.

  • wika

She might just land earlier, since Brad’s flight is longer. But yeah I’ll be happy to see them land together too :D

  • busted

I heard him this morning on The Today show. His pompous lying ass. Saying how he could go and use his own money like he did before. Thing is he never did use his own money. He is being paid back for any money he used; which is why the campaign has no funds. HE is a fraud.. and I see him trying too back out at the last minute. And those nutters following him need to wake up.

  • changeling

I did a quick analysis of his arrival from Nice and the BA flight that left Heathrow bound for LAX. The FB user posted his note over 3 hours ago. Brad arrived LON from Nice at 2pm, then departed at 2:16 BA1502, arriving LAX at 5:23 pm. http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightStatus/flightStatusByFlight.do?airline=BA&flightNumber=1502

The next flight did not leave LON until 4:25 pm arr LAX 7:41 pm.

the only thing that matters is that they will go to the bed room at the same time tonigh.

Aww that pic of Angelina and Knox.. TOO ADORABLE!

  • changeling

As usual I am basing my assumptions based on the timing of DM posting and the closest time of flight departing for LAX. There was AA flight that left at 12:45pm arriving LAX at 3:50pm. I’m not sure if they will hang around the airport firstclass lounge to wait for Brad and be picked up by Richie in one car. I assumed that she’s flying American Airlines because they flew to NYC by AA also. It is usually round-trip tickets same airline. Note that Brad’s flight is British Airways but operated by American. They’re in the same terminal.

The older he gets the more he looks like his dad.. with the shadow of his mother.

Have you ever seen that video of Brad and Angie’s faces morphing.. they have features that fit so well. seamless almost. But then I see Viv and she screams Brad to me..

  • Felinelilly

I never read the article parts of the DM but I saved all these pictures. They’re great. Knox is adorable and I love the pic of Maddox listening intently to what Angie is saying.

    Your analysis sounds right.

sweet pics. Maddox is of an age when kids seem to want distance from their parents. It says a lot that he seems so close to his Mom.
