Jesse Williams, the man speaks truth.

A humanitarian, but only for black people, but not when they kill each other.

  • Gina

Riight, because white people never kill each other? Sit down.

  • Roscoe

Deflect and insult is just about right for you.

  • Gina

Pointing fingers and being in denial is just about right for YOU.

  • Roscoe

Tell me how my initial post is wrong instead of labeling. You can’t even stay on topic likely because you can’t articulate a defense. Sad.

  • Gina

Considering what the Just Jared article is about, you’re the one you went off topic because you can’t handle when white people get called out for racism. So your deflection tactic is to talk about black people killing each other. You aren’t able to justify heinous crimes against black people, so you brush it under the rug by referring to their crimes against each other instead. YOU’RE the one who can’t articulate a defense. Pathetic.

Did anyone hear what this punk ass mulatto said on TV last night?

  • Roscoe

Nope. I’m criticizing him being recognized as a humanitarian by commenting on the most limited scope the term could be applied in his case. When I think of that word, I think of humans, not just one racial group. Maybe he could be in the running for the best black activist.

You, him, and others like yourselves are the ones sweeping the overwhelming majority of crimes against black people under the rug. More black people are killed by other black people during a weekend than black suspects are killed by the police in a year if not longer. Also, more black people have been killed by abortion than black people during slavery. You can pat him on the back if you want to, but I will save my applause for people tackling the icebergs instead of the ones who think they are saving the world by playing in the snow.

  • Gina

Ha! More brushing under the rug, but now in mini essay format LMAO. You don’t get to define what humanitarianism is or the scope of which humanitarian acts should cover. There are MANY causes in this world that need addressing, it’s impossible for one person to help everyone in all areas, but every little bit helps. You don’t get to decide which cause is more important from your ivory tower. Jesse is doing his part and addressing the causes that hit close to home. Just because you don’t care about black people, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t. Your argument is akin to you barging into someone’s funeral and yelling “Other people are dead too, so what’s the big deal?”
You bringing up black people killing each other is completely pointless and irrelevant. It’s a cop out, a distraction, and a weak attempt to make light of the fact that the police who are meant to serve and protect are targeting and executing black people. Society holds cops to higher standards, they are in positions of power. People have been needlessly killing each other for centuries white, black & otherwise, I’m not saying it’s OK but you don’t expect cops to be joining in. To quote Jesse himself: ” If you have no interest in equal rights for black people, than do not make suggestions to those who do. Sit down.”

The Award was given by BET (Black Entertainment Television) Stands to reason it would given to someone who is working to better the Black community.

How is he bettering the black community though? Like I mentioned in another post, it seems that he qualifies for an activism award. The word humanitarian as it relates to this man seems a very big stretch. Can you really say that no other person truly helped people in general, including black people, more than this guy?
