Kaley Cuoco Apologizes for Controversial July 4 Instagram Post

Kaley Cuoco deleted a controversial Instagram post of her dogs posing on top of an American flag to celebrate the Fourth of July.

The 30-year-old Big Bang Theory actress offered an apology after deleting the original post.

“I would like to comment on a photo I posted yesterday , that has caused lots of controversy. First off, please know, I have the utmost respect for my country. I am a proud American in every sense of the word. I understand the American flag stands for our freedom and represents American heroes , past and present,” Kaley wrote.

“Yesterday I made a mistake by posting the picture that was taken of my sweet dogs posing on an American flag. I sincerely apologize to anyone that has been offended by my previous post. This is no way reflects my feelings toward what the American flag represents. Living in the public eye, can be extremely difficult at times. Every mistake and every imperfection is amplified. I am not perfect. I am a proud American, today, tomorrow, always,” she concluded.

I have a blanket with a Canadian flag on it. My dogs sleep on it all the time, no one has ever been offended by it. I also have small Canadian flags that I wrap around my dog’s neck like a bandana. One time, I used her Canadian flag bandana to wipe the dog drool off her face. No one at the park was offended. Jesus, social media warriors take shit too seriously. Calm the fuck down. How is it offsenive when an American dog, born in America, with an American owner, born and living in America, is sitting on the American flag? It’s not like they took a shit on it. And this is coming from a person who hates Kaley Coocooo. People get offended too easily.

She really felt she needed to apologize for this? So what about all those american flag swimsuits, towels and t-shirts? I’m sure plenty of people drank, barfed, had sex or even peed on them on monday. Ridiculous that everything is about an apology now.

  • Mistica

This is ridiculous. I’m not Kaley’s big fan, but I don’t see anything wrong in a picture like that. People complaining about everything now, and it’s geting exhausting. Maybe those kind of people should take a deep breath before to write nonsenses in social media.

  • laura

This is really ridiculous. This is the kind of political correctness that doesn’t help anybody. People care more for the protocol than for other people nowadays…

  • laura

Like, if I was american i would start worrying about a flag only after I was sure that there weren’t any more daily unnecessary death (gun control, police killing black people…), after i was sure that none was living in poverty or being bullied, or living in bad health conditions…
Since when are objects, symbols, more important than real persons with beating hearts?!

  • laura

Even if the dog did shit on it, Kaley would have thrown away the poop, washed the flag and that would be it. Come on!
Same for me, I don’t find her particularly good or funny or intelligent, but this is nonsense. ..

also you don’t need to worry about year long child care leave and non-existence of public transport system.

  • Gina

    Thank You.

I hate that people allow themselves to be strong-armed into giving an apology. Her apology only draws more attention to the situation. People who were upset about what she did are probably just ashamed & feeling guilty that they have two horrible candidates running for president so they took the two dogs on the flag as a social commentary or her throwing shade. Boo hoo. Get over it.

  • totalobvi

celebrities and people in general need to have stronger backbones and not apologize for stupid stuff like this. I bet there were only about ten people actually complaining about this but somehow this has made news.

  • Rick Isserman

I checked one source 54,000 responses, Kaley Cuoco had 1800 posts. This is not about an apology. This is about a symbol of freedom, that people have died for. It is about the immigrants who have given up everything to be here. She hit a nerve because she was careless. She will survive but a little less cocky!

  • Rick Isserman

There is part of our society who live a privileged life. These people have little regard for those who sacrificed their lives! The flag is a symbol of that freedom. Unfortunately our demented department store society thinks it is cool to be a flag suit bather .

  • Rick Isserman

If you were a real student of history or talk to the immigrants who just saw their families killed and made it here safely. You would not be so callous. That flag is a symbol of freedom. By displaying it properly you respect that. “We the people ” is the first few words of the constitution, that we is you.

  • Rick Isserman

“We the people ” is you the buck stops at your door. The question is what are you doing about all those issues above?

  • Rick Isserman

    It is not stupid.

  • Rick Isserman

Then you never talk to an immigrant who made it here safely after a genocide. “We the people ” means you!

  • Anna

Oh shut up Rick. You oversensitive little shit.

  • Rick Isserman

I guess disrespecting your elders is part of your upbringing. No pride in your language or your argument. I truly feel sorry for your parents! They have to endure your potty mouth!
