Tom Hanks is mourning the death of his mother Janet Frager after she passed away at the age of 84.

The Oscar-winning actor, who celebrated his 60th birthday just days ago, posted a vintage photo of his mom on Instagram along with a tribute.

“This beauty? My mom. She was the difference in many lives. Many lives. We say goodbye to her today. Safe crossing, mom! Hanx,” he captioned the photo.

Tom‘s wife Rita Wilson also posted a tribute: “This wonderful lady gave birth to my husband, and three other children. Thank you for bringing my love into the world. She is at peace now.”
