Matt Damon Had to 'Suffer' to Prepare for 'Jason Bourne'

The 45-year-old actor opened up about how he got into shape for the new Jason Bourne movie during an interview with The Telegraph.

“It was absolutely a different experience. [Director Paul Greengrass] said early on, ‘Look, if we open the film and in the first frame of Jason Bourne we see your face and you look like you’ve lived well these past 10 years, we do not have a movie. You have to look like you’ve suffered. And the only way to do that is to suffer,” Matt said.

Matt was on a strict diet of vegetables and protein for months before the shoot, and did two ninety minute high intensity workouts per day to prepare.
