Nicole Richie to Star in NBC's 'Great News,' Replacing Kimrie Lewis-Davis

Nicole Richie is returning to television – this time, in an NBC television series!

The 34-year-old fashionista will star in Great News, a pilot from the 30 Rock team.

It’s about a “mother-daughter relationship that is challenged when an overly involved New Jersey mom (Andrea Martin) interns at her daughter’s (Briga Heelan) workplace, a cable news network,” (via THR).

Nicole is replacing Kimrie Lewis-Davis in the role of Portia, the co-host on the news shoe. Producers are saying they wanted to go in a different direction.

Nicole starred on reality shows The Simple Life and Candidly Nicole, but this marks her first scripted regular series starring role.
