Michelle Obama Gets Personal During Democratic National Convention Speech
Michelle Obama shares a smile while speaking at the 2016 Democratic National Convention on Monday evening (July 25) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Penn.
The 52-year-old First Lady of the United States shared her support for Hillary Clinton, while taking on Donald Trump in a sly way.
“Don’t let anyone ever tell you that this country isn’t great. This, right now, is the greatest country on earth,” she said, in reference to Donald‘s campaign slogan.
Michelle later opened up about her daughters Malia and Sasha and the first time she sent them to school with the secret service at 10 and seven-years-old, respectively.
“I saw their little faces pressed up against the window and all I could think was, ‘What have we done?’…How well we managed this experience could truly make or break them,” she explained.
Michelle added, “We urge them to ignore those who question their father’s citizenship or faith. We insist that the hateful language they hear from public figures on TV does not represent the true spirit of this country.”
After her speech, her husband Barack tweeted his support for her.
Incredible speech by an incredible woman. Couldn't be more proud & our country has been blessed to have her as FLOTUS. I love you, Michelle.
