Judge Orders DNA Testing on Potential Heirs to Prince's Estate
A Minnesota state judge finally ruled who would be eligible to proceed in the battle over Prince‘s estate on Friday afternoon (July 29).
The judge ordered that six alleged members of Prince‘s family submit to genetic testing to prove a blood relationship to the late singer.
These relatives include Prince‘s known half-siblings Tyka Nelson, Sharon Nelson, Norrine Nelson and John Nelson as well as Brianna Nelson and Victoria Nelson, who claim they are the niece and grand-niece of the entertainer.
29 other people, including alleged siblings and children, were barred from seeking a share in Prince‘s $250 million estate.
According to Billboard, five other claims of alleged children were dismissed because they had been adopted by other parents or they lacked “crucial documentary proof.”
