Novak Djokovic Eliminated From Men's Singles Tennis in Rio Olympics, Becomes Emotional on the Court
Novak Djokovic was just defeated in a major upset in the first round of the men’s singles tennis on Sunday (August 7) during the 2016 Rio Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 29-year-old number one seeded player in the world was apparently “visibly frustrated” during his match against Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro, who won the match 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-2). Fans noted that Novak began crying while walking off of the court.
Novak also lost to Juan during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Novak will compete in the U.S. Open later this month.
