Anne Hathaway Shares Inspiring Message About Baby Weight & Body Shame

Anne Hathaway took to Instagram to post a message for women about body shame.

The 33-year-old Oscar winner welcomed baby boy Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman on March 24 of this year.

“There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever). There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all). There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer’s are just too dang short for this summer’s thighs,” Anne wrote in the captioned.

“Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It’s all love (don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.) Peace xx #noshame #lovewhatyouhavebeengiven,” Anne added.

I’ve always liked Anne. She was the best thing about The Dark Knight Rises, she’s a great actress, and people don’t seem to like her, probably because she’s actually a good girl who didn’t have to sleep her way to the top to reach her goals and dreams, like winning an Oscar.

    Well said!!! Yahooooo…..

Do women really need celebs to tell them it’s OK to gain weight when pregnant or whenever?

  • Liz

Apparently there are a lot of women out there who feel pressured to lose weight after baby and this is their way or letting the women of the world know that it’s OK and not to put so much pressure on themselves. Some people value their self-esteem based on what they see in magazines.

I find that very sad. It’s especially bad now because they airbrush/photoshop every teeny tiny imperfection out of ads and fashion mags.

I just love this! The weight I gained when I got pregnant (via conceiveeasy) did not come off easily after. But I chose to enjoy my newborn than worry about it. No woman should be pressured to lose all that weight that fast (unless you’re a VS model? hahaha).
