Michael Phelps Picks Up 21st Gold Medal After Ripping His Cap
Michael Phelps splashes the water into the air while celebrating his 21st career gold medal after the Men’s 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Tuesday (August 9) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 31-year-old legendary swimmer won gold alongside his teammates Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer, and Townley Haas.
Michael has now won gold medals in his first three events at the Olympics and he has three more left to go this year.
Right before Michael was going to complete the team’s relay, he tried putting his cap on and it ripped. With seconds to go before he had to swim, Michael ended up wearing Conor‘s cap!
