The pipeline would be used to transport crude oil from North Dakota into Illinois but would cross the Missouri River a mile away from the Standing Rock Reservation and threaten residents’ drinking water.
“We stood to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline all day… Through the rain. And hope Obama heard us. Please sign the petition if you haven’t,” Riley wrote on her Instagram.
You can sign the petition and stand with the Native Americans. At the time of this posting, the petition has 164,475 signatures.
