Serena Williams Loses in Third Round of Olympics Tournament
Serena Williams looks defeated during her third round match in the Women’s Singles tennis tournament at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Tuesday (August 9) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 34-year-old tennis player and reigning Olympic champion lost the round to Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina.
Serena won the singles match at the London Olympics and she won the gold in the women’s doubles finals alongside sister Venus Williams in 2000, 2008, and 2012.
Over the weekend, the sisters lost in the first round of the doubles tournament at this year’s games.
