Allyson Felix Takes Silver in Women's 400m After Shaunae Miller Dives Across Finish Line

Team USA runner Allyson Felix has taken the silver medal in the Women’s 400m during the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics at the Olympic Stadium on Monday (August 15) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 30-year-old fan favorite was on track to win the race until Bahamian runner Shaunae Miller dove across the finish line.

It’s unclear if Shaunae intended to dive into her finish, as the track has been slippery due to rain throughout the day. Earlier in the day, Brazilian runner Joao Vitor de Oliveira also dove across the finish line.

Even though Allyson didn’t win this race, her silver medal win officially makes her the most decorated Team USA woman in Track and Field history!

Congratulations Allyson!
