It was just announced that the 31-year-old actress’ new film Lion will be the centerpiece of the American Express Gala at the 2016 BFI London Film Festival, according to Variety.
Lion was adapted from the memoir “A Long Way Home” by Saroo Brierly and “tells the true story of how a wrong train takes a five-year-old Indian boy hundreds of miles from home; he survives many challenges before being adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, haunted by memories of his childhood, he learns of a new technology called Google Earth, and sets out to find his lost family.”
FYI: Rooney is wearing a Yigal Azrouël jacket.
