Lou Pearlman Dead - Former Backstreet Boys & 'NSYNC Manager Dies at 62

Lou Pearlman, the former producer and manager of the Backstreet Boys and ‘NSYNC, has passed away in prison at the age of 62, according to Billboard.

The former record producer died on Friday (August 19) while serving a 25-year sentence for his reported involvement in a Ponzi scheme that cheated 1,700 investors out of half a billion dollars back in 2008.

Lou also managed O-Town and LFO and created MTV’s Making the Band.

‘NSYNC‘s Lance Bass tweeted about Lou‘s death, writing, “Word is that #LouPearlman has passed away. He might not have been a stand-up businessman, but I wouldn’t be doing what I love today w/out his influence. RIP Lou.”
