Swimmer Nick Thomas has sadly died while attempting to swim across the English Channel from Dover to Calais, England.
The 45-year-old athlete was pulled from the water after being found unconscious 16 hours into the swim and 10 miles from the coast of Dover on Saturday (August 27).
Nick was transported to a hospital on land but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
“Our friend Nick Thomas left us whilst doing what he loved – he just kept going. He’ll always be a part of what we do and who we are,” the race director from Enduroman Events wrote on their Twitter page.
Nick was a veteran Ironman and Ultraman triathlete.
Our thoughts are with Nick‘s friends and family during this difficult time.
