Ben Vereen Accused of Being Married to 2 Women for 36 Years

Ben Vereen has been accused of bigamy after he allegedly was illegally married to two women for 36 years.

The 69-year-old Tony-winning actor is currently getting a divorce from his first wife Andrea Vereen after he was married to someone else for 36 years. He has been married to Andrea for 51 years.

“This story is so bizarre – you can’t make this stuff up,” Andrea‘s lawyer told Page Six. “Perhaps, Mr. Vereen will see another movie opportunity here.”

Ben filed for divorce in 1972 after seven years of marriage and both he and Andrea thought the divorce had been finalized. The discovery that they were still married happened when she went to file for social security at age 65 and was told there is no record of her being divorced. She called Ben to inform him and he promptly filed for divorce.
