“I don’t think any one person does it. I think it’s the movement of lots of individuals coming together at one time,” Lupita expressed, referring to if her career is paving the way for a more diverse Hollywood (via RedEye). “It’s a convergence of intention, you know? So I certainly hope that me being around and working is changing something, shifting something, but I don’t think I can claim the power of being able to shift an entire industry. We are about to open Queen of Katwe across America, I think that is a major change.”

No matter what, give it an Oscar. Tired of hearing all of the whining about oppression and inequality.

I guess everyone’s watched Roots and ‘The Color Purple’, Ben-Hur etc. I don’t like watching the newer full length movies being redone in these modes and strains. If the ‘Queen of Katwe’ is anything panoramic or ‘African Queen’ like then I’m in the theater.
