Emily Blunt Discusses 'The Girl on the Train' & Pressures of Motherhood
Emily Blunt looks chic as she arrives at BBC Radio 1 Studios on Wednesday (September 21) in London, England.
As the film touches on elements of motherhood, Emily recently opened up about the pressures she feels society puts on women regarding their decisions to become mothers or not, as well as the choices they make afterward.
“There is a huge societal pressure on women when it comes to motherhood and these ‘mommy cults’ that go on,” she told The Express Tribune at the premiere. “It makes women feel they have to be defensive about the choices they make – whether they want to be mothers or not or whether they want to breastfeed or not.”
“I think this film really captures that,” she added. “I think women will really relate to the film and see aspects of themselves, or themselves fully, in any one of these characters.”
FYI: Emily is wearing a Burberry blouse, Sachin & Babi Noir skirt, Anita Ko ring, and Christian Louboutin heels.
