'The Magnificent Seven' Wins Box Office With $35 million Debut

The star-studded new flick The Magnificent Seven has won this weekend’s box office with a stellar $35 million debut!

According to THR, the film, starring Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke, nabbed one of the top openings of all time for a Western.

Coming in second was the new animated movie Storks, starring the voices of Jennifer Aniston and Andy Samberg, opened to $21.8 million.

Taking the third spot was Tom HanksSully, which brought in an additional $13.8 million for a domestic total of $92.4 million so far.

Rounding out the top five were Bridget Jones’s Baby and Snowden, which brought in $4.5 million and $4.1 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth‘s new film The Dressmaker opened in 33 theaters, grossing $180,522 for a location average of $5,015.
