Joe Jonas Used to Think Music Streaming Services Were 'Scary'

Joe Jonas enjoys a walk on Friday (September 30) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 27-year-old singer was joined by his friend Greg Garbowsky, and the two stopped to pick up some iced coffee at Alfred Coffee & Kitchen.

Joe recently opened up about his thoughts on the music industry’s transition from physical CDs to streaming services and social media.

He started off by getting nostalgic, noting that he and the Jonas Brothers “thought we killed it with 100 followers on MySpace,” he told Billboard.

Joe went on to share that the musical transition “was scary for a lot of artists because we weren’t sure where the music industry was going. But to say we have songs that have been played over 200 million times is pretty unreal. We figured out that it’s not scary, it’s actually exciting because you can find ways to connect with your audience.”

Joe added that he’s now a fan of Twitter, Facebook, and “the Gram.”
