Dita Von Teese & Lionel Richie Raise Funds for AIDS Monument
Dita Von Teese shimmers in blue as she steps out for PHOTO16 at Milk Studios on Thursday (October 6) in Hollywood.
The 44-year-old dancer and model, who served as the host of the live auction, was joined at the event by singer Lionel Richie as well as actress Julie Newmar, artist Alan Silfen, and nightlife & culture impresario Bryan Rabin, among others.
The photo auction raised more than $300,000 for the construction of the AIDS Monument in West Hollywood, which will raise awareness about the disease’s history, culture, and prevention.
“An honor to host and speak at last night’s #Photo16 event to raise funds for the national monument honoring lives lost in the AIDS crisis, with interactive elements to educate on the current state of the fight against HIV/AID,” Dita wrote along with an Instagram photo she posted that night. “Through the weekend, all proceeds from the sale of autographed photos at shop.dita.net via @jenavonteese will be donated to this cause. Thank you @bryanrabin and the many others that are working diligently toward this beautiful cause.”
