Ariel Winter Says There Are More Important Things to Talk About Than Her 'Showing a Little Underboob'

Ariel Winter stands strong on the new November 2016 cover of Seventeen magazine, on newsstands October 18.

Here’s what the 18-year-old Modern Family star had to share with the mag:

On being judged on social media: “It’s definitely hard being self-conscious and having the world be able to tell you how they feel about you. Before Twitter and Instagram, if you felt a certain way about a person you didn’t know, you couldn’t tell them. Now I wake up and I have tweets to me about how I’m a fat, ugly blah-blah. When I was younger, it took a lot more of a toll on me than it does now. Three or four years ago, I would have been devastated, like, Why do people feel this way about me? I’m just being me. My sister helped me understand that people will say those things regardless of how you look. I tell myself every day, ‘I look fabulous.’”

Why she won’t quit social media: “I definitely have pushed myself to deal with the good and the bad because I feel there are so many girls who need to hear positivity. I feel like as many of us women who can band together and discuss things in a positive way will be so beneficial. Losing one person in that discussion wouldn’t be helpful.”

On her plans to attend UCLA next year: “I’m ready to meet a more diverse group of kids from different backgrounds and different places, and I’m excited to learn and to be really responsible with my classes. I think it will be great.”

On her skin-baring body-con graduation dress: “I looked great in it, I loved it, and that’s all that matters to me… There are so many other issues in the world that are more important than my graduation dress showing a little underboob.”

So you and every other woman or girl playing dress up as a sex worker/stripper should be allowed to be indecent in public because there are more important things in the world. Got it.

    She’s never going to college.

Next year she will get offered the same screen time on the show and decide not to go to college again and take the pay check. Same thing with all these actresses.

Yeah, let’s talk about how to dress up like a cheap whore when you are an overweight girl with cellulite and saggy tits.

  • Jenny from the flop

This girl is contradicting herself. She says theres more important stuff yet she is the one showing it off. You dont stick your butt out in pictures on instagram if you dont want people to talk about it. She puts out what she wants us to focus on. She neds to take her own advice and realize theres more important things then flashing your tits, ass, and gut

  • Will

I have no idea what makes her think she looks good, but if she did look good why did they have to air brush you so much, And it’s simple, cover your private parts and wear the size you actually fit into and people listen to your thoughts and idea’s.

  • Jezza

    Whatever, Ariel🙄

But it’s not just a ‘little underbewb’. Every time I see a picture of this young woman she’s scantily dressed in ill fitting clothing that does not compliment her body type, and extolling the ‘awesomeness’ of Kim Kardashian and her ‘feminist’ views.
Yes, there are important issues to consider nowadays. However, there’s only so much one person can do in regards to that. What she *can* control is her own situation.
This is just her deflecting responsibility.
I get it, she’s young. I think most young people go through that boundary testing/’coming into your own’ phase, but dressing like a hoochie and then making up silly excuses is just dumb.

I hope she too lessons from 17 mag on how she should dress her body type. She looks great in these pics.

She did not look good in that grad dress.
