Serena Williams Withdraws from WTA Finals Due to Shoulder Injury
Serena Williams strikes a pose while spending some time at Magic Kingdom Park on Sunday (October 16) in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
The 35-year-old tennis star showed off her bow and arrow skills in a fun photo she took with the character Princess Merida from Disney’s Brave.
Serena had planned on vacationing at Walt Disney World before resuming training for the season-ending WTA Finals in Singapore.
However, it was recently announced that Serena will not be able to take part in these finals due to a shoulder injury.
“It’s been a really tough year for me,” Serena said in a video message on the WTA’s Twitter (below). “I’ve been dealing so much with these shoulder injuries. My doctor insists that I stay home and heal it … so I can have a chance to play next year.”
