Jessica Alba Talks Achieving Goals: 'I Was Adamant About Becoming A Superhero'

Jessica Alba starts off her morning with a coffee while taking a walk on Thursday (October 20) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The day before, the 35-year-old actress stayed comfy in pajama-type outfit and carried the same red purse as she landed at LAX Airport.

The Honest Company founder was returning from a trip to Boston, where she attended ForbesUnder 30 Summit and opened up about parenthood, starting her own business, and battling allergies, asthma, and sometimes pneumonia when she was younger.

“I was adamant about being a superhero,” Jessica told the crowd. “I wanted, as a sick kid, to have superpowers and overcome anything and save the world.”

“People are every month getting products delivered to their home,” she went on to discuss The Honest Company. “We’ve transformed people’s lives. For any entrepreneur out there when you’re faced with challenges, you can’t let them define you.”

“[How people view me] doesn’t matter as much a couple of years later because I don’t allow it to matter as much,” she added. “I’ve been able to own my power and take the position that I feel is rightfully mine and be the leader that I’ve always wanted to be. It took baby steps for me. You have to walk in with your end goal in mind and make sure you’re relentless until you walk out of the room.”

FYI: Jessica is wearing a Kenzo x H&M t-shirt on the walk. She is wearing a Kenzo x H&M patterned top and pants at the airport. She is also using Raden luggage as well.

the pretention off her is like Gwyneth Paltrow 2.0. You’re not changing lives or saving the world, you’re selling overpriced overhyped nonsense and profiting off of fear and insinuating that other products are toxic and dangerous to people’s precious little babies and that her stuff is perfect. well. when did people start believing that in all incidences 100% natural must = 100% healthy? anthrax is natural and organic, doesn”t mean i want it in my yogurt.
she and her company constantly incite this chemicalphobia when all of her products involve chemicals too. most of them the same chemicals as the competitors. can some babies be allergic to chemicals and dyes in diapers? yes. does honest also use chemicals and dyes in their diapers? yes. they’re also hardly the only company not to use fragrances in their diapers. Honest has been sued for being dishonest about products or medical claims made, they’ve faced numerous allegations of lying about ingredients and using the term ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ when products were neither.
but sure, she’s real honest and saving the world

Nothing and no one is perfect. Alba should feel very proud of her achievements. She had a great idea and she pursued it. That took courage. Now she’s worth something like $350 million. Wow! Some actors work for 20-30 years and never amass that kind of wealth.
