Taylor Swift Files Counter Suit Against DJ Who Groped Her Butt Backstage
Taylor Swift is in the middle of a legal battle against a DJ in Colorado, who claims he was fired over allegations that he grabbed Taylor‘s butt while taking a photo.
While in Denver for a concert in 2013, the 26-year-old performer met radio DJ David Mueller during a meet and greet backstage.
According to the suit, David‘s girlfriend took a photo with Taylor and he jumped in at the last second. Later in the night, the couple were approached by Taylor‘s security team, who accused David of grabbing Taylor‘s butt before asking them to leave.
David was subsequently fired from his job at 98.5 KYGO and is now suing Taylor, who is fighting back by filing her own suit.
“Resolution of this Counterclaim will demonstrate that Mueller alone was the perpetrator of the humiliating and wrongful conduct targeted against Ms. Swift, and will serve as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts,” court documents explain.
The documents add, “Mueller did not merely brush his hand against Ms. Swift while posing for the photograph. He lifted her skirt and groped her.”
The trial has yet to go to court but Taylor has already won one battle against David - a judge granted to seal one of the photos in evidence from the public’s viewing until the case goes to trial.
