Bobby Vee, a pop idol from the 1960s, has died at the age of 73, according to the Associated Press.

The singer was best known for his hit “Take Good Care of My Baby,” a chart-topping song written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin.

From 1959 to 1970, Bobby recorded 38 tracks that reached the Top 100 and he continued his recording career into the 2000s.

Bobby was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011 and performed his final concert that year, but didn’t publicly announce his diagnosis for another year.

Great rock and roller from the good old days. My fave was Rubber Ball. His wife died last year after 51 years of marriage. Nice life.
