Quentin Tarantino Will Retire After Making Two More Movies

Quentin Tarantino has announced his plans to retire from filmmaking after directing two more movies.

The Oscar-winning filmmaker revealed the news while speaking at the Adobe Max conference on Thursday (November 3) in San Diego, Calif.

“Drop the mic. Boom. Tell everybody, ‘Match that sh-t,’” Quentin said about his plans to stop directing movies after his tenth feature.

“Hopefully, the way I define success when I finish my career is that I’m considered one of the greatest filmmakers that ever lived. And going further, a great artist, not just filmmaker,” he said (via THR).

Quentin‘s eight directorial feature films so far are My Best Friend’s Birthday (1987), Reservoir Dogs (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill: Vols 1 and 2 (2003, 2004), Inglorious Basterds (2009), Django Unchained (2012), and The Hateful Eight (2015).

He’ll retire for 10 years or so and then come back with a bang. These type of people always say they’ll retire, but once they do, they get bored and have no where to put their creativity. They end up making a masterpiece without all the stress and deadlines since it ends up being genuine, and then come back with good shit. It’s what’ll happen.
