Alicia Keys Was Told to 'Step It Up' on 'The Voice'
The Grammy-winning singer opened up about the show while making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday (November 4) in New York City.
“I’m not good at [pitching myself]. I wasn’t good at that,” Alicia said about trying to land a singer for her team when multiple judges turned their chairs. “I’m not a pitcher. I’m not a salesman. It’s weird.”
“I guess I wasn’t really doing a good job for a little while because my creative partner and manager said to me, ‘I’m going to need you to step it up,’” Alicia added.

“‘I’m going to need you to drop like 15 Grammys on them. I’m going to need you to talk about why you’re the only woman on there who is a producer, and a writer, and an artist. I need to you to step it up.’ I was like, ‘okay,’” Alicia added. Watch the video below!
