Sevyn Streeter Reschedules National Anthem Performance for 76ers, Will Wear 'We Matter' Jersey
Sevyn Streeter has rescheduled her National Anthem performance after the Philadelphia 76ers blocked her from singing at a recent game because of her outfit.
The 30-year-old R&B singer wanted to wear a “We Matter” jersey, but she was blocked from doing so.
Sevyn has accepted the team’s apology and will wear her jersey while performing at the December 16 home game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I have accepted their apology,” Sevyn told the Associated Press. “In order to move forward, it was important to me that we take action and use this as an opportunity to create positive change and dialogue throughout the community.”
