Freeform's 'Dead of Summer' Canceled After One Season

The freshman series Dead of Summer has been canceled by Freeform after just one season.

The series was created by Once Upon a Time‘s co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. It followed a summer of terror at a summer camp for teens.

The horror drama struggled to find an audience after receiving poor reviews.

Other new series that Freeform has canceled include Guilt and Recovery Road. The network is looking for a new hit as Pretty Little Liars is ending next year, though it still has Bella Thorne‘s Famous in Love to come.
