Rachel Maddow Has a Message for Third Party Voters

Rachel Maddow has a message for people that voted for third party candidates in the 2016 Presidential Election and it looks like she is placing some blame on those voters for the results of the election.

“Well, it is what it is. People go into this eyes wide open,” the MSNBC host said during the network’s coverage on election night. “If you vote for somebody who can’t win for president, it means that you don’t care who wins for president.”

Gary Johnson and Jill Stein both received a chunk of votes, even though no one expected either of them to win.

Did she whine that much in 1992 when Perot was running? Don’t think so.

How dare they go off the reservation and think for themselves???

Do they not know that the Borg must be respected????

Screw U Rachel. I vote my conscience. U lost cuz ur candidate is a corrupt bitch.

  • Yaara

and Trump is so much better.
Sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two evils.
Enjoy Trump, seems an awesome guy.

Might as well have thrown their vote in the nearest trash can.
    Enjoy your orange overlord, assholes.

They should have not railroaded Bernie. This is why I wrote him in .

Sure….it couldn’t possibly be the corrupt politics of Clinton and the demo-corporate party…….

  • David A. Perry

That was disgrace by you and Chris Matthews last night. Turned over to MSNBC for a little while. Brian Williams was at least attempting to be an unbiased reporter, while you and Chris couldn’t help but to put up a temper tantrum and blame everyone except yourselves. Dems nominated a horrible corrupt candidate. If you had run Biden or even Sanders you might well have won. Don’t blame people who voted their conscience for another candidate. Personally I am sad today, but would have been equally sad had Hillary Clinton won.

  • Mark Bellamy

The reason the Dems lost is due to people like her. So blinded by their own world view they dismiss all the corruption, lies and deceit. I have completely lost respect for her. The fault lies entirely with the DNC. If they had not rigged the primary Bernie would have been the candidate and he would have won without question. Screw you Maddow and your blinders point of view.

  • Stacie Stevens Markham

Actually, what it means is that some folks just couldn’t dirty their hands by voting for either of these candidates. To some, both of these “people” are so disgusting, so slimy, so corrupt that to actually cast a ballot for one of them was just something that some people couldn’t bring themselves to do. Although it WAS kind of funny watching all the monkeys argue over which one of these “people” was the better “person”…you may as well have been arguing over the morality of Hitler and Stalin. It was ridiculous.

  • Stacie Stevens Markham

The lesser of two evils? You see, some of us resent the hell out of having to be put into the position of choosing between two evils. So maybe we should be blaming the voters who nominated the two worst excuses for a human being to ever have existed?

  • Stacie Stevens Markham

I agree with you, but it looks like Bernie was compliant in the whole thing. To agree not to bring up clinton’s wealth on the campaign trail? It was very deceitful. He should’ve gone after her for all he was worth.

I didn’t vote for him but, yes, much better than a criminal corporate elitist. Shoulda gone with Bernie. Cry me a river.

    Nicely said.

  • Mark Bellamy

I would argue he was coerced…but I admit i was taken aback when he suddenly started supporting her as if the primary hadn’t been rigged. They must have threatened him with something big to force him to just roll over like that. Regardless, they did cheat, they did cost themselves victory, and Maddow does need to think before she opens her mouth.

  • GradientDescent

In addition to voting your conscience and wanting the person to win, the only way that a party can qualify for federal matching funds to to get more than 5% of the popular vote in the previous presidential election. That is how less powerful parties become more powerful, Rachel. Duh.

  • T W

Ha, ha. ha….Rachel is just a corporate ho now. She is severely mistaken on what went wrong.

I used to listen to her on the radio way back in the day, but she seemed to have a split personality once on MSNBC.

Those third party voters are mostly millennial and independents who would have stayed home if Jill and Idiot boy weren’t on the ballot. Sorry Rachel, you and your buddies are to blame for this one.

Three facts from Podesta emails that Rachel’s ego likes to forget about:
    1. MSNBC and DNC chose to prop up three republican “pied piper” candidates who were too extreme in their opinion to win a primary. Donald was one of them. MSNBC and rest of biased media gave DT nearly $2 billion in free air time. I’ve never seen an empty campaign podium get so much time on CNN. Rachel helped create this monster.

    2. DNC and same group of media outlets who were going to dinner at clinton foundation and receiving expensive gifts from the foundation threw their best candidate Bernie under the buss for Billary.

    3. Poll data was massaged by MSNBC and others to show Hillary winning easily. Media failed to accurately gauge public thermometer, especially among older working class folk. Rachel was one of the loudest cheerleaders for shutting down decent. I do not consider her a rational person anymore.

MSNBC and the rest are to blame for DT. They propped him up, funded him with virtually unlimited air time and threw their own competitive candidate under the buss, because he wasn’t willing to give them million dollar gifts for their “positive” stories.

Media companies made record profits off this election. I hope it was worth it Rachel.

    According to Forbes:

“CNN will reportedly see almost $1 billion in gross profit in 2016″
    up 14% from last year.
“Fox News will also have a record-breaking year, with gross profit topping $1.67 billion”

The campaigns have spent a total of $336 million on TV ads according to Kantar Media/CMAG data. Clinton has far outspent her opponent on this aspect of campaigning, putting up $245 million compared to Trump’s $91 million.Across ABC, CBS and NBC, Trump’s campaign received 822 minutes of airtime between January 1 and Labor Day, according to the Tyndall Report, while Clinton attracted just 386

Rachel needs take a good look in the mirror.
