Donald Trump Admits He Likes Parts of Obamacare in Post-Election Interview

Donald Trump has given his first post-election interview and he actually praised parts of President Barack Obama‘s Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare).

The President-elect says that working “quickly” on the health initiative is a priority for him once he gets into office, but he says he likes two parts of the health law.

Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he likes parts of the law that prohibit insurers from denying coverage to patients because of existing conditions and also the provision that allows children to stay on their parents’ insurance policies for additional years.

“I like those very much,” Trump said.

The change of heart came after Obama urged Trump not to repeal the law during their first meeting this week.

WHAT DO YOU THINK about Donald Trump’s comments in the interview?

Next he’ll be reconsidering building a wall… He played the republicans so bad

  • iamtrue2bill

OK, who thought he would really do all those wild things he promised? He just spouts words.

  • Roger Dodger

Trump’s “believe me” cry has been around for decades. He has conned countless workers, contractors and business partners with this hollow promise. Look at Trump U for a shining example.

he’s a joke and the joke’s on all these white supremacist who believed in his “ideas” he just had a good marketing plan

  • John Dow

Trump didn’t say anything new. PPACA as it is is a piece of shit, but the idea behind PPACA is great and that idea has been here for a very long time (the concept goes back to at least 1989). A lot of PPACA elements must be reworked to start working as they should, but some of the elements are working fine.

Two reasons I didn’t vote for him: 1) What I heard him say on that bus. 2)Trump University – He’s a salesman & a fraud, I knew he wouldn’t keep any of his promises. Obamacare has to go, those of us who don’t have it are still charged for it in taxes and it’s going to get worse. I hope he does build that wall, and I do hope he bans muhammedans from entering our country and trying to change it the way they’re doing in Europe. I actually considered voting for him at one point, but he’s fraud.

Ok, so the guy just say he want to get rid of Obamacare to get elected, but when he does get elected, just say he liked some part of it. Hmmmm …………..

  • Cruizin1960

I highly doubt that his convo with Obama had anything to do with his comment on what he likes about the law. Most people who hate the ACA like the fact that pre-existing conditions were covered and liked that people up to the age of 26 could be on their parents plan. Don’t think that this is a change of heart by Trump at all…good try at spinning it that way though.

  • Cruizin1960

Guess you haven’t paid attention to what Michael Moore has been saying about those who voted for him then, huh?

  • Cruizin1960

He said repeal and replace. He never said that there were not parts of the ACA worth saving…but you cannot separate those parts from the existing law.

  • Gina

But why would people want a guy who spouts words? Why not the truth from day one?

Look at you going out of your way to not give Obama credit for doing something good in regards to obamacare. Excuses, excuses.

He played the dummies who voted for him.

Lmao there are clips of him from rallies saying he’s going to completely repeal ALL of Obamacare. Can’t spin when it comes from the orangutan’s own mouth.

  • Kittywilderness

I hope he does roll back on every piece of rhetoric he spewed to get into office, because the type of people who voted for him are the type to make his life very difficult going forward when he lets them down. But the damage in some part is done. The hate that came through in the campaign has opened the flood gates for people to openly hate. And so far Trump has said fk all to calm that.

  • Cruizin1960

So what? You can replace it with something that includes the good things that are in the Act. You go about it in two ways – either repeal and replace OR gut it. Either way, it actually is the responsibility of Congress to decide which way to go since we will no longer have an imperial Presidency.
