Sterling K. Brown Says 'This is Us' Role is 'Strangely Therapeutic'
Sterling K. Brown is opening up about the emotional storylines on NBC’s hit show This Is Us.
The 40-year-old Emmy-winning actor particularly connects to the father-son dynamic with his character.
“I lost my dad when I was a young man and so I feel, acutely, this sort of connection to fathers and father figures,” Sterling told ET. “So it’s been strangely therapeutic for me to go through this journey as Randall, [with] his daddy issues.”
He added, “I think about my dad all the time, and I know that he’s smiling at the fact that I get a chance to do this part right now and go on this journey. I hope I just do him proud. That’s all.”
Sterling stopped by the AOL Build Series studios on Wednesday (November 16) in New York City.
