Celebs React to 'Boycott Hamilton' Trend, Offer to Use Tickets!

After Donald Trump voiced his distaste for the Broadway cast of Hamilton‘s message to VP-elect Mike Pence, the trend #BoycottHamilton was started by his supporters.

The irony of this stance is that Hamilton is sold out for the next year and the show is nearly impossible to get tickets for.

If anyone actually decides to boycott the show, plenty of others will be begging for their tickets and many celebs have already stepped up offering to take tickets off anyone’s hands!

The idiots don’t know the meaning of Hamilton or understand the essence of the founding fathers’ journey. Doubt many of them attend the theatre anyway. No art in their soul.

  • John Dow

This musical is just a commercial product that was created to make money. That’s it.

  • John Dow

Some of those people who were there yesterday are working now with their lawyers, because their evening was completely ruined by cast’s rant.

  • :)

Maybe these celebs should look away from this issue just like they do with poverty, war, starving children, women’s international rights, and education.

  • Peter

Is it just me, or does Jeffrey Wright come off as a whiny pudgy bitch, like most of these spineless Hollywood pu$$ie$?

  • Kittywilderness

    It’s just you

  • Kittywilderness

Only 1 in 5 Broadway or West End shows make their money back. There’s no guarantee of job security, success or plaudits. People do this for love not money. Hamilton is a very rare beast indeed, Lin didn’t write this to cash in, he has Moana and Mary Poppins to make the money. I’m guessing you’ve never been a theatre kid

  • blowcoldblowhot

Tax them to the max. Remove their tax exemption.

  • Kittywilderness

Given most of the audience booed Pence and the show took place as normal, uninterrupted, the speech took place at the curtain call. So how exactly was their experience of the most successful show of the last decade been ruined?

If ever I was to go see it, it is no longer so.

  • Shelby

Keep insulting. It’s working so well I see hatred and intolerance alright.

  • Shelby

Rich celebs who feel guilty. Yet they’ll take their money from people they despise. Tell people how to think. As if you are an expert in anything.

  • jane

you boycott by not going, even if you have a ticket. they aren’t smart enough to figure that out? let them perform in an empty theater

  • Harry Caray is Deplorable

LOL. What celebs think? Right. Based on celeb endorsements….Hillary should have won every state. Nobody and I mean nobody listens to what a bunch of spoiled, rich, “actors” say in regard to politics. They should just shut up and perform. That is why I bought a ticket. Entertain me.

  • Gigi La Moore

Definitely just you. The only person who seems whiny is Donald Trump. “Waaaa, the cast of Hamilton were mean to Mike Pence.” Is he for real?

  • Chicken_Paprikash

    Emmy rOssum is repugnant

  • Gigi La Moore

I heard Mr. Dixon’s comment. What rant?

  • Roni O

“Celebrities” react to boycott Hamilton? Who are these people that they call celebrities? I recognized maybe two names. Every time these “celebrities” type stories comes up it ends up being a list of who’s not.

Anyway, I’m not joining any boycott. I’m just adding it to the vast list of movies, tv shows, and music I will not pay for because the artists decided to ruin the entertainment value by throwing in their two worthless cents. I don’t pay in order to hear their opinions. I pay to be entertained.

  • Roni O

Bwaaaahaaaahaaaa. These shows are created to make money or, yes, lose money. It’s ALWAYS about money for the people who make the show happen. FYI — the artists are NOT the ones who make it happen. If the backers don’t give it money, it never reaches the stage.

It said created. I was addressing that. The financing from the Public theatre and others didn’t create it. Lin did. You have create something before it can be financed

  • beachshopalot

It’s easy to boycott. Burn the tickets, damn the costs, and let them play to an empty theater. That’s not much fun. And then a play that could have gone on for years will end n 2. Idiots.

  • jan

yeah???? how are those box-office sales going ??? and how bout the stars on TV lets see how those ratings are…… keep it up guys…that big ole’ fault line in California can’t last forever or happen too soon

  • Cheyenne

The show is sold out through 2017. Like you could afford a ticket anyway. They cost $1,000 apiece.

  • Cheyenne

And it’s making a shitload. Tickets selling for $1,000 apiece, sold out through 2017. That’s probably longer than your Cheeto Jesus will last in office.

  • Henrik Øelund

Perhaps it was by being lectured by a political activist/moral superior..?
Or is that a part of the show?
Maybe you can work it into every movie, tv-series and the news as well..wait! You already did.

  • jan

I actually COULD afford several tickets dick wad…. but I was talking about ticket sales for their movies and numbers for people watching their TV show. Gotta love that common core…..

Hamilton- is silly performance of β€œrappers” spouting nonsense and lies about Alexander Hamilton.

“Hamilton was the founding father of corrupt crony capitalism funded by a crooked central bank, exclusively for the benefit of the one-percenters of his day. He stood for everything that the Trump campaign stood against. Hamilton was the consummate statist and imperialist and political water boy for the big business interests of New York, Philadelphia, and Boston (the Federalists) who wanted to essentially establish the rotten, corrupt, imperialist, British mercantilist system in America. The very system the American Revolution had just deposed, in other words. Hamilton was a traitor to the principles of the Revolution who spent the last fifteen years of his life attempting to transform the American government into a government for crony capitalists, by crony capitalists, of crony capitalists, all centrally planned by clever Machiavellian political manipulators like himself.”

“Alexander Hamilton was the founding father of constitutional subversion who denounced the Constitution as β€œa frail and worthless fabric” because it imposed so many limits on governmental powers.”

Sometimes standing up for the sake of good is more important. I’m sure the play will do just fine. But please, keep up the name-calling; it’s amusing.

  • odindorf

Churches first, especially the ones who can’t get it right and perpetuate hate.
