Hamilton's Brandon Victor Dixon Says 'There's Nothing to Apologize For'

Brandon Victor Dixon, the star of Broadway’s Hamilton, is opening up about delivering a message to Mike Pence and why he thinks “there’s nothing to apologize for.”

Donald Trump says that the cast was rude and he demanded an apology on behalf of the VP-elect.

Brandon appeared on CBS This Morning on Monday (November 21) to talk about the experience.

“The producers, the creatives and the cast, we recognize that Hamilton is inherently an American story told by the definition of the American community – we are men and women of different colors, creeds, and orientations – and the resonate nature of the show throughout the world, throughout the global community, demands that we make statements when there are important issues facing us as a community,” Brandon said. “So we wanted to stand up and spread a message of love, and of unity.”

“I was honored to represent our cast and our show in that way,” he added. “For me, I think the most important thing in respect to all the emotions everyone is feeling after this election is to make sure that people recognize that we are not alone. We are here together.”

if it was done to obama all the liberals would have started crying race

  • Dee

ya they should apologize, right after you do to obama for birtherism. thin skinned mongoloid.

  • Dee

pence isnt offended, nothing happened. move along.

  • Dee

they boo’d before he even got on stage…. he addressed the elephant in the room and even calmed the audience. pence wasnt offended, why are u?

  • Itsnotatumor

he must be so happy with all attention he’s getting.

Please the republicans have the market cornered on being rude and disrespectful, or have you forgotten Joe Wilson yelling “you lie” in the middle of Obamas state of the union address. The cast of Hamilton spoke their mind at their performance and did so in a polite manner. The rest of the audience was booing Pence because he is an outspoken anti LBGTQ homophobe.

  • lolme

Most people are offended because of the booing and disrespect to the office of Presidency and VP. It makes our country look weak. Eventhough you are not happy with the outcome, you need to respect the process.

  • Dee

u sound silly. did i say i wasnt happy with the outcome? If pence isnt offended, why are you? what makes our country look weak is trump being offended for every little thing and thinking everyone owes him an apology. as my mom said, pence is a sensible man, so he wasnt. you cant control the audience and the cast was respectful in telling him their concerns. sad pence wasnt at the top of the ticket tho.

Thank you Mr. Dixon for saying that.
