Naomi Campbell Teases Role On New Lee Daniels Musical Drama, 'Star'!

Naomi Campbell is opening up about her role in the upcoming Lee Daniels musical drama, Star!

“The energy is so great – it makes you want to get up and dance and sing,” the 46-year-old supermodel revealed to W magazine in her feature for their December issue, in which she was photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Edward Enninful. “I don’t need to [sing or dance]. I orchestrate.”

Naomi is set to play Rose Spencer, the wealthy mother of one of three young women trying to make it as a band. Lenny Kravitz plays Rose’s rock-star husband; Queen Latifah, the godmother of the other two girls.

On role-playing for the camera: “I’ve always taken direction as a model. Whether working with photographers like Richard Avedon or designers like Marc Jacobs, I’ve always asked them, ‘What would you like of me?’”
